Getting started
Classic vs Highline: which HighLevel layout to design for
HighLevel has two layouts, Classic and the new Highline navigation. Learn which one your clients use and how the FunnelCare editor handles both.
HighLevel is moving every account from its Classic layout to the new Highline layout. The editor supports both. Use the Layout switch above the tabs: Classic | Highline (new).
How to tell which one you're on
- Classic: a dark sidebar on the left with the location switcher at the top, and a header bar above the page.
- Highline: a narrow account rail on the far left, a lighter sidebar beside it, and a new top bar with search and Ask AI.
How the editor handles both
- Each layout keeps its own settings, so you can prepare your Highline design while clients still use Classic.
- The editor remembers your last choice in this browser.
- Your brand colour and logo carry over when you start a Highline design.
What's different
| Classic | Highline | |
|---|---|---|
| Real dark pages | Frame only (sidebar and header) | Yes, across pages |
| Navigation | Navigation Composer and UI Control | Elements tab, per menu group |
| Install | Custom JS and CSS | Same, plus Run custom CSS and JS on Highline |
Highline is becoming the standard HighLevel layout for every account, so these guides focus on Highline first. Start new designs there.
